New plan for Ukraine, American project revealed: It will not cross the

The US is discussing the idea of creating a demilitarized zone between Russia and Ukraine, in which it would take a leading role.

The area in question would be monitored by American satellites and drones, but would not include ground troops from NATO member states.

Instead of such troops, which are opposed by Russia, the presence of forces from countries that are not part of the alliance, such as Saudi Arabia or Bangladesh, is being considered.

In such a scenario, no American soldiers would be deployed in Ukraine and NATO would stay out, so as not to cross the Kremlin’s “red lines.” At the same time, Kiev would sign bilateral security agreements with partners outside the framework of NATO’s Article 5 ,” NBCNews says.

Russian President Vladimir Putin would have to agree to any plan for security guarantees for Ukraine, and NATO's involvement or even its suggestion is a key issue for him, so efforts are being made to completely avoid using the North Atlantic alliance's forces in the plan.

A key challenge is defining what would be considered a violation by Russia and what the response should be. Another part of the talks relates to the Black Sea, where Turkey will be responsible for ensuring the free passage of ships.

For now, the plan remains only on paper because it cannot progress without the approval of Putin and his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelensky, and the leaders of other countries that would be included in the security guarantees, including US President Donald Trump.
