Turkey arrests 115 ISIS members preparing Christmas terror attacks

Turkish police have arrested 115 people suspected of being members of the Islamic State (ISIS) and planning to carry out attacks during Christmas and New Year celebrations in Turkey.

According to an official statement from the Istanbul chief prosecutor's office, police had received information that members of the Islamic State were planning attacks in Turkey, mainly against non-Muslims, during the Christmas and New Year holiday period.

In total, raids were carried out in 124 locations in Istanbul, as a result of which 115 out of 137 wanted people were arrested, Turkish media reported.

According to the prosecutor's statement, several pistols and quantities of ammunition were seized during the operation.
