An Albanian has injured an Athens police officer with an ax, during an operation to arrest him.
The incident happened around 19:30 on Wednesday when the authorities received a complaint about a person who is in a house on Theoklitou street in Neo Kosmos and shot in the air.
Immediately, the forces of the DIAS team went to the scene, specifically the Acropolis team, where the woman who had notified the police was waiting for them together with her son.
The 46-year-old man of Albanian origin entered the house and began to see what was happening hidden behind a curtain. The police announce that DIAS operatives have been waiting for the author to come out again.
The Albanian went out on the balcony, but instead of a gun, he was carrying an ax, attacking and lightly wounding one of them in the hand. The police announce that they have subsequently arrested the Albanian who has previous criminal records.
