Putin's ceasefire proposal, Ukrainian Foreign Minister: Why should we wait until May 8, let's stop fighting today

Ukraine has responded to Russia's proposal for a three-day ceasefire next week. Andrii Sybiha, Kiev's foreign minister, said in a post on X that if Russia "truly wants peace," it should immediately cease all fighting.

He asks why Moscow should wait until May 8 to begin the ceasefire and prove that their intention is real and not just for a parade.

"If Russia really wants peace, it must stop the fighting immediately. Why wait until May 8? If the war can be stopped now and from any date for 30 days, then show that the goal is real, not just a parade."

"Ukraine is ready to support a stable and complete ceasefire. This is what we have repeatedly proposed, for at least 30 days ," the Ukrainian Foreign Minister said.
