Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has issued a strong warning that Russia will attack a NATO country.
"This is the information I received from intelligence. I think he is preparing war against NATO countries next year. It is not enough to tell Putin to stop," Zelensky declared.
At the Munich Security Summit, Zelensky spoke about negotiations to end the war in Ukraine, saying he would only sit down with Putin when a peace plan drafted by Donald Trump is on the table.
"I think what is very important for this meeting is that no decision is made on Ukraine without the presence of Kiev. It is very important for me to put pressure on Putin. Put all the sanctions in place, I think President Trump is ready to do this. He has all the power to do it. That is why I really wanted to come to Washington ," the Ukrainian president added.
Zelensky demanded strong security guarantees, for the implementation of which he said at least 110 thousand troops would be needed. He called for unity between the United States and Europe. But for the United States, Zelensky said that they never wanted Ukraine in NATO, including the previous administration of Joe Biden.
Earlier, the US president said that trilateral negotiations to end the Russia-Ukraine war would begin at the Munich Security Conference. However, Russia denied sending any representatives to Munich.
JD Vance said that the idea of deploying US military troops in Ukraine is not entirely opposed by Washington. According to him, something like this could be decided by the United States if Russia refuses to sit at the peace table. The Kremlin has demanded clarification regarding this US statement.
