Russian President Vladimir Putin said he has held discussions with the US, Iran and Israel, but the resolution of the conflict depends on Jerusalem and Tehran.
He said that Iran's interest in "peaceful nuclear energy" could be "secured" while also alleviating Israel's security concerns.
But Putin stressed that Russia will not “impose anything on anyone.” He said Iran did not accept Russia's offer to cooperate on air defense, adding that anti-aircraft systems were not covered by the strategic partnership that Moscow and Tehran signed in January.
"We once proposed to our Iranian friends to work together on anti-aircraft systems, but our partners did not show any great interest. As for individual supplies, yes, of course, we made them at that time, but this has nothing to do with today's crisis," Putin said without specifying when the offer and past supplies took place.
Meanwhile, regarding the possibility of the assassination of Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Putin stated that " I don't even want to discuss the possibility of assassination by Israel."
