Iranian embassies around the world quickly reacted, in a mocking manner, to a tweet made yesterday by US President Donald Trump: " Tuesday will be Power Plant Day and Bridge Day, all rolled into one in Iran. There will be nothing like it!!! Go to hell… you narrow, crazy bastards, or you will live in hell - wait and see! Praise be to Allah ."
The Iranian embassy in South Africa responded by suggesting: “ Serious consideration of the 25th Amendment, Section 4 ,” referring to the constitutional provision that allows the US vice president and a majority of the cabinet to declare the president incapacitated and transfer power to the vice president.
The Iranian embassy in Bulgaria wrote: " Calm down, tiger, stay calm ." The Iranian embassy in Austria called Trump's comments an unprecedented slide into vulgar and threatening invective. " The desperation is almost palpable, oozing from every syllable, especially the occasional insult ," it said, recalling that attacks on civilian infrastructure, such as bridges and power plants, constitute a war crime. The embassy also added a warning: " Protect all minors under 18 from exposure to Trump's rhetoric ."
The Iranian Embassy in the United Kingdom cited a quote from Mark Twain in its post on X: " It is better to keep your mouth shut and be thought a fool than to open your mouth and clear up all your doubts ."
At the same time, he also quoted a verse from a Persian poet to describe Trump's "bad character."
The Iranian embassy in India focused primarily on Trump's use of abusive language, noting that it "does not suit his age," adding: " Be patient, old man! " along with a laughing emoji.
For its part, the Iranian embassy in Zimbabwe wrote that "presidential etiquette" refers to the standards of behavior and communication expected of a sitting president.
