Russia has increased production of some military equipment more than tenfold to supply its army in Ukraine, its largest arms producer has said.
Vladimir Putin has ordered increased production to ensure Moscow can fight the West by supplying Ukraine with billions of pounds worth of weapons.
Bekhan Ozdoev, industrial director of the armaments complex at Rostec, the Russian state corporation that controls most of the arms industry, said production volumes for various types of weapons had increased from two to 10 times.
" We are moving forward at cruising speed, smoke from all pipes ," he said.
Ozdoev said there had been significant increases in the production of tanks, armored vehicles, missiles, artillery, the Iskander short-range ballistic missile, the Pantsir medium-range surface-to-air missile system and the Kinzhal hypersonic missile.
