The secret session about Israel, the Republican president bluffs Erdogan:
Özgür Özel

The chairman of the Republican People's Party, Özgür Özel, one of the main opposition parties in Turkey, has made a strong reaction regarding the closed session held on Tuesday in the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) regarding Israel's imaginary attacks on Ankara.

The Turkish Republican Party says that these ridiculous statements and warnings from Erdogan come as a result of the extreme poverty that has gripped the most remote regions of Turkey.

This, according to Özel, is a way for Erdogan to attract the attention of the people hungry for bread, by inventing scenarios of radicalism and imaginary enemies.

"The whole group and the whole Parliament listened intently. What was said and what was not said. Not much more was said than the information provided by those who talk about foreign policy and military strategy on the evening news channels. We we said, 'Talk about being recorded for 10 years.' They didn't tell us anything we didn't know. That's the problem. I won't say what they said, but all they said is this: Turkey shouldn't worry about what Erdogan said, there's nothing to underline what he said. , there is nothing you don't know. There is nothing to suggest that they will attack Turkey from today to tomorrow. Because Turkey's most talked about topics are poverty, unemployment and financial difficulties, Israel will attack Turkey for Turkey not to talk about these things. "I complain to our nation about the manipulation carried out by the President", Ozel said.

The closed-door session held in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey with the agenda of the Israeli threat has ended after 5 hours.

This session was decided to be kept a state secret for 10 years in a row, the doors of the rooms near the General Assembly and the press corridor were closed.

What is a closed session?

A closed session in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (GNA) is a special meeting where "confidential" matters are discussed. These sessions are often held to discuss sensitive matters not suitable for public disclosure:

National Security: Critical issues related to national security, such as homeland defense, security threats, military operations, or strategic issues, may be discussed in closed sessions.

Foreign Relations: Sensitive foreign policy issues such as Turkey's diplomatic relations with other countries, crises or international agreements can be discussed without being open to the public.

State secrets: These types of sessions are preferred to avoid disclosure of state secrets. In particular, issues related to intelligence information, security policies or the defense industry can be discussed in closed sessions.

Extraordinary situations: In extraordinary situations such as war, coup attempt or large-scale crisis, Parliament may need to take decisions quickly and effectively and such situations may be assessed in closed session.

Closed sessions are closed to the press, and decisions taken or speeches made at the meeting are not made public in the session, except to MPs.

After closed sessions, the minutes are kept only by the Presidency of the Assembly and can be made public after a certain period of time (usually 10 years). During this process, no participant can explain the topics discussed in the session.

The opening of the third legislative year of the Turkish Grand National Assembly (GNA) was held on Tuesday, October 1, in the Ankara capital building. President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, one of those who spoke at the podium, touched on the ground operation launched by Israel against Hezbollah militants in Lebanon and said that 'aggression also includes Turkey'.
