The spokeswoman of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, has reacted appropriately to the news that Joe Biden has given the green light to Ukraine to strike Russia with its long-range weapons.
Zakharova said that Russian President Vladimir Putin has already made clear his position on possible attacks inside Russia with US long-range weapons.
" The president has already spoken about this issue ," she told RBC.
Earlier in the day, The New York Times reported that US President Joe Biden has authorized the use of US-supplied long-range missiles, known as Army Tactical Missile Systems, or ATACMS, to strike inside Russia.
However, the Pentagon refused to comment on these reports, while the White House and the State Department have not yet responded to TASS's inquiry.
Later in the day, France's Le Figaro reported that France and the United Kingdom had Biden's lead and also allowed their weapons to be used to strike inside Russia.
Putin said on September 12 that a possible decision to use Western long-range missiles against Russia would mean direct involvement of the United States and other NATO countries in the conflict in Ukraine. This step will change the very nature of the conflict and Russia will have to make relevant decisions from the threats it will face, the president warned.
