The scenes of extreme violence took place in a restaurant in the United Arab Emirates, specifically in Abu Dhabi, between deputies of the "Georgian Dream" party and a Georgian citizen.
According to what a Georgian journalist reports on her personal account on social networks, two deputies of the Russian party "Georgian Dream", Irakli Zarkua and Viktor Sanikidze, were in Dubai despite the months-long crisis that their country is facing to see from near the Coldplay concert.
In the restaurant of the hotel where they were staying, they were noticed by a Georgian citizen with permanent residence in the Emirates.

The citizen approached him with his cell phone, recording the moment, asking him: "What do you have to say about what happened yesterday in Batumi? What do you say about the violence against protesters in Tbilisi?'
The MP reacted by throwing his cell phone on the ground, which seems to have heated up the situation.
Following this, Gabitashvili did not initiate a physical conflict but continued confronting them verbally, including using swear words. This move angered Lasha Gabitashvili (citizen), who followed them to the hotel parking lot, exchanging insults with the deputies for a few seconds.
The video appears to have sparked a backlash in Georgia and angered pro-Russian MPs and party leaders. The next day, without any excuse, one of the deputies noticed Gabitashvili having breakfast with his partner and attacked him by throwing everything at him.
Today, while Gabitashvili was having lunch at a restaurant, Zarkua, Sanikidze, and their friends approached him and, without any verbal interaction, began physically attacking him.

The tension increased and as seen in the video, 5 people tried to severely beat the Georgian citizen. As the footage shows, Gabitashvili resisted and managed to punch anyone who tried to rape him.
