Qatar has reacted after the attack on a United Arab Emirates-bound ship in the Strait of Hormuz, condemning it as a serious violation of international norms.
The incident was reported from Fujairah, where a tanker affiliated with state oil company Adnoc was suspected to have been hit.
In an official statement, Qatar's Foreign Ministry called the attack "a flagrant violation of international law and the principle of freedom of maritime navigation."
Authorities in Doha have also called for the immediate restoration of the normal functioning of this strategic corridor. The statement emphasizes the need for the "unconditional reopening" of the Strait of Hormuz.
Meanwhile, the United Arab Emirates continues to report missile attacks, with the latest warning issued at 7:49 p.m. local time.
