A large explosion has occurred in the Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza, where dozens of people are said to have been killed. Hamas officials have blamed Israel for the attack, but the latter has refused to talk about the incident.
The news was also confirmed by the director of the Indonesian Hospital in Gaza, who stated to 'Sky News' that hundreds of people were injured and killed after an explosion in the Jabaliya refugee camp in the north of the region.

The enclave's Hamas-run interior ministry said a number of Israeli airstrikes hit apartment blocks in a residential area of the camp. Ministry spokesman Ayed al Bazm said six bombs hit the area.
French news agency AFP was on the scene in Jabalia after the explosion in the refugee camp. The agency stated that footage from the scene shows at least 47 bodies pulled from the rubble.
Meanwhile, Ragheb Aqal, a resident of the area said that the explosion felt like an earthquake that shook the area. Pictures taken by a Reuters photographer at the scene show flattened buildings and bodies being pulled from the rubble.

Located north of Gaza City, Jabalia camp is the largest of Gaza's eight refugee camps. More than 116,000 Palestinian refugees were registered there by the UN as of July 2023.
Refugees began settling in the camp after the war in 1948. It is a small but densely populated area, covering only 1.4 square kilometers and consisting mainly of residential buildings.
