Russia calls NATO plans to hold the Defender 2024 military exercise near Russian borders a provocation.

According to the spokeswoman of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, the exercise could lead to military incidents and she escalated the warning to tragic consequences for Europe.

"These practices are openly provocative. For several months, a group of 90,000 troops from 31 NATO member countries, as well as Sweden, will be actively operating near the Russian borders.
