The police seem to have launched a strong action against the family of Edmond Papa. The latter was executed on the afternoon of December 16, 2022 in a bar in the Selita area, while he was drinking coffee. The 49-year-old is suspected of having been heavily involved in drug trafficking from Turkey to Albania and from Albania to England.
At noon, it was announced that Kristo Qirici, the brother of businessman Edmond Papa, but with a changed last name, was arrested in Dubai today. Qirici is accused of being the leader of a criminal drug trafficking group that transported drugs to Greece and beyond.
Meanwhile, police launched an operation in Saranda this afternoon, where they arrested Alqi Papa, owner of the "Oasis" hotel. The latter also turns out to be Edmond Papa's brother.
In this hotel, the Prosecution has seized a suspected floor built without permission on the terrace of the 6-story hotel on "Butrinti" street, in neighborhood no. 1 of the coastal city.
