A shocking incident occurred on Wednesday in the city of Kahramanmaraş, Turkey, where a 42-year-old woman, Eser Karaca, was brutally murdered by her ex-husband, Atilla Aydintapli, 44.
The macabre event took place within the premises of a private hospital, where the victim, a mother of two, worked.
According to Turkish media, the moments of the crime were captured by the hospital's security cameras. In the footage, the perpetrator is seen entering his ex-wife's office with a black bag in his hand. Just a few seconds later, Karaca is seen rushing out of the office, trying to escape and being helped by her colleague.
But Aydintapli, who was carrying a rifle hidden in his bag, followed her and shot her at close range on the hospital steps, as the woman raised her hands and begged him to stop. Despite this, he shot her twice more before running away from the scene.
Aydapli was arrested immediately after the crime, with prosecutors seeking a life sentence.
