According to what the Serbian media "Danas" reports, the parliamentary group of the Greens in the EP, has requested a detailed investigation into how Serbia has spent the money from the EU funds.

According to what the Serbian media Danas reports, the parliamentary group of the Greens in the EP has requested a detailed investigation into how Serbia has spent the money from the EU funds. The reason for this investigation is the suspicion that there was misuse of EU funds.
The report is said to be published by the end of this month, but "Danas" announces that it has not yet managed to receive official confirmation of this information. Dobrica Veselinovic from the Green-Left Front recently stated that the writing of the report is in progress.
One of the authors of the report on spending money from European funds is, as we learn, Gwendolyn Delbos-Corfield, a member of the Greens in the European Parliament.
As a reminder, the final report of the ODIHR election observation mission is expected at the end of the month. The fact is that the European institutions, the opposition in Serbia that initiated the adoption of the EP Resolution, as well as the representatives of the authorities in Serbia are waiting for that report.
The last in a series of statements from the EU, was that of the head of the Delegation of the European Union in Serbia, Emanuel Gioffre, who two days ago, on the occasion of the resolution of the European Parliament, said that the final report of the ODIHR mission is expected - to observe the elections, in order to then encourage the Government of Serbia to fulfill all its recommendations.
He emphasized that after the publication of the ODIHR report, the government of Serbia will be encouraged to follow the recommendations of that body.
" After the elections, we asked for a serious review of all allegations of irregularities and emphasized that it is necessary to have a strong electoral framework, as well as to eliminate all the weaknesses noted by that mission. We look forward to the ODIHR report due to be published soon and encourage the government to implement the recommendations of that report as soon as possible ," said Gioffre.
We remind you that in the Resolution of the European Parliament on the elections in Serbia, which was approved on February 8, in point 27, the European Commission is asked to suspend the allocation of funds to Serbia, if, after an international investigation, it is proven that the government is involved in fraud election.
" We reiterate our position that accession negotiations with Serbia should progress only if the country makes significant progress on EU-related reforms, including full implementation of the recommendations of the OSCE and the Venice Commission; we call on the Commission and the Council to apply strict conditions; we call on the Commission to follow in detail the reports of the Court of Auditors and immediately start an audit of the funds given to the Government of Serbia under the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance III (IPA III) and other financial instruments; we emphasize that if the Serbian authorities are unwilling to implement key election recommendations or if the findings of this investigation show that the Serbian authorities were directly involved in voter fraud, the EP calls for the suspension of EU funding based on serious violations of the rules of the law regarding the elections in Serbia" , it is written in the Resolution. / Adapted "Pamphlet" from "Danas"
