Donald Trump has declared that he is ready to start legal proceedings against Google, through the Ministry of Justice, in case he is re-elected president.
The explanation he gave is that the company "mistakenly" reproduced negative articles about him, but not about his Democratic opponent in the race for the White House, Kamala Harris.
The complaint came in a post on Truth Social, where Trump called it illegal to show bad news about him while saying his opponent is being favored.
"It was discovered that Google had illegally used a system that detects and displays only bad news about Donald J. Trump, some of which is fabricated for this purpose, while simultaneously revealing only good news about Kamala Harris .
This is legal activity and I hope the Department of Justice prosecutes them for this blatant election interference. If not, and subject to the laws of our country, I will seek to follow them when I win the election and become President of the United States," Trump said in the post.
Google has stated that it does not manipulate search results to benefit a particular party.
"Both campaign websites consistently appear at the top of search for relevant and common search queries," the company said in a statement.
