US President Donald Trump has once again repeated his claims about the sexual orientation of Iran's new supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei.
Speaking in an interview with 'Fox News', Trump said it is true that the CIA had informed him that Mojtaba Khamenei was gay, which, according to him, is a minus for the new Iranian leader.
It is worth noting that Trump's comments come at a time when the US and Israel continue their attacks on Iran. US and Israeli officials have made repeated calls for regime change in Tehran, but the government has not collapsed, despite the elimination of Ali Khamenei and several other regime leaders.
Excerpt from the interview:
"Ayatollah Junior. Have we been told, and has the CIA told you, that Ayatollah Junior is homosexual?"
Donald Trump : Yes, that's been said, but I don't know if it's just them. I think a lot of people are saying that, which puts them in a difficult position in that country. Honestly, it makes me smile when I see people trying to defend the Palestinian regime in the name of women, 'Women for Palestine,' when, according to the allegations, women are severely punished if they don't respect certain dress codes.
Also, when I hear about 'homosexuals for Palestine', it seems contradictory to me, since it is claimed that in those territories homosexuals face severe punishments, even death. This leads me to ask: who are these 'homosexuals for Palestine'? However, there seem to be a considerable number of them.
As for myself, I have had considerable support from gay voters. During my campaign, I even used the LGBT community anthem in my closing activities, and I believe that this had a positive impact. My results in this regard were better than any other Republican before, and I am proud of that. Maybe it has to do with the fact that I come from New York, but nevertheless, I think this approach has had an impact. However, the idea of 'gays for Palestine' remains paradoxical, if these claims are taken into account. When people are faced with this contrast, I think they may reconsider their positions.”
