Russia has responded to threats from US President Donald Trump, who said he would sanction Moscow until a ceasefire with Ukraine is reached.
In its response, Russia said the new US sanctions would not stop Moscow from achieving its goals in Ukraine. Russian government spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said Ukraine has already lost and this is clearly visible on the battlefield.
“The first line of the post is the most important. For many months, the US has focused on Ukraine’s victory. There is now a recognition of the reality that the Ukrainian position on the battlefield is bad. The truth is that Ukraine lost because they trusted and relied on the previous White House.
"As for the new sanctions, we have already faced so many sanctions and they have not stopped us from achieving our goals ," Maria Zakharova, a spokeswoman for the Russian foreign ministry, told CNN.
