President Donald Trump has said the US may not agree to a deal if Arab countries do not normalize relations with Israel.
Trump also repeated his previous demands that Iran's Arab neighbors join the Abraham Accords. The agreement normalized relations between the Arab signatories and Israel and was reached during Trump's first term.
" It would be historic if the countries that haven't signed up yet joined, they owe it to us," Trump said.
His envoy, Steve Witkoff, stressed that he is "pushing" the issue in talks with all parties.
Trump intervenes, saying that if the Arab countries do not agree, the US should withdraw from the deal.
" I'm not sure if we should do the deal if they don't sign it ," Trump said.
However, he refuses to confirm whether the Iran deal will depend on other countries joining the Abraham Accords.
So far, only the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Morocco and Sudan have signed the agreement.
Iran's neighbors have been particularly hard hit by the war, as Tehran has targeted them with retaliatory attacks to increase pressure on the US and Israel. On the other hand, Iran's supreme leader has repeatedly called on Arab countries to close US military bases on their territory.
