US President Donald Trump has warned Iran to make a deal or face a worse attack than the one on its nuclear facilities in June 2025.
Through a post on Truth Social, Trump stated that the large aircraft carrier "Abraham Lincoln" is moving towards Iran and is ready to attack, if necessary.
Trump underlined that time is running out and hopes that official Tehran will sit at the table soon.
“A massive army is moving toward Iran. It is moving quickly, with great power, enthusiasm, and purpose. It is a larger fleet, led by the great aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln, than the one sent to Venezuela. As with Venezuela, it is ready, willing, and able to accomplish its mission swiftly, with speed and violence, if necessary. We hope that Iran will “come to the table quickly” and negotiate a fair and equitable deal, not a nuclear one, a deal that is good for all parties.
Time is running out, it is truly of the essence! As I told Iran once before, make a deal! They didn't, and there was "Operation Midnight Hammer," a major destruction of Iran. The next attack will be much worse! Don't let this happen again. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President Donald J. Trump,” the president wrote.
A US aircraft carrier strike group has arrived in the Middle East as tensions rise over a possible attack on Iran after a brutal crackdown on protests that rights groups say has left thousands dead.
Amid the unrest, the Iranian currency, the rial, fell to its lowest level against the dollar, trading at 1.5 million rials on January 27.
The protests began on December 28 in the markets of the Iranian capital, Tehran, amid anger among merchants over dire economic conditions. The demonstrations quickly spread across the country and turned into protests against the authorities over deteriorating living standards and the suppression of freedoms. According to one report, the death toll may have exceeded 30,000.
