United States President Donald Trump announced that his meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping, which had been postponed due to military operations in Iran, has been rescheduled and will take place in Beijing on May 14 and 15.
In a public post, Trump also announced that he and First Lady Melania Trump will host the Chinese president and his wife, Peng Liyuan, in Washington later this year for a reciprocal visit.
According to the statement, representatives from both countries are finalizing preparations for these meetings, which are considered important for bilateral relations between the US and China.
Trump stressed that he is looking forward to meeting with his Chinese counterpart, describing it as a moment of special significance. "I look forward to spending time with President Xi at what I am confident will be a monumental event," he said.
