It was attacked by Iran with 300 drones and missiles; how much did it cost to
Israeli defense system

An attack by more than 300 Iranian drones and ballistic missiles was the latest challenge to Israel's air defense system, which has already been working overtime to deal with missile, drone and rocket attacks coming throughout the six-month war against Hamas.

Israel managed to successfully defend itself from a massive attack launched by Iran, where hundreds of drones and missiles were launched towards the Jewish state.

Israel's defense system with the help of the US and Britain is credited with preventing serious damage or casualties.

According to Israel Defense Forces spokesman Daniel Hagari, 99% of the attacks were intercepted and the rest hit areas without causing major infrastructural damage near Israeli bases.

However, this iron defense of Israel for just one night cost a whopping 1.3 billion dollars.

These are the calculations made regarding all the assets that Israel used in a few hours of defense.

Most of the revenue spent anyway is thought to be related to US aid funds.

Thus, the IDF intercepted 103 ballistic missiles over Israel.

The cost of each interception at Ametz Hatz is about 1.85 million dollars, (it goes without saying - partly or mainly American funding).

The cost of each interception using a "magic wand" is about 700 thousand dollars.

It is assumed, however, that most intercepts were carried out using a single interceptor on each missile, for logical military considerations of weapon economy and a four-layer interception capability in case of failure of the first intercept.

The costs of interceptors and cruise missiles are significantly lower.

From this, it follows that the defense in broad terms cost about one and a half billion shekels ($1.3 billion), including the cost of fuel.

Here's a closer look at Israel's multi-layered air defense system:

Sisemi 'Arrows': This system developed with the US is designed to intercept long-range missiles, including the types of ballistic missiles Iran said it fired on Saturday. The missile, which operates outside the atmosphere, has been used in the current war to intercept long-range missiles fired by Houthi militants in Yemen.

Patriot system: This American-made system is the oldest member of Israel's missile defense system – used during the first Gulf War in 1991 to intercept Scud missiles launched by then-Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein. The Patriot is now used to shoot down aircraft, including drones.

The most used and well-known is Iron Dome , an anti-missile system, which serves to intercept short-range attacks, from 4 to 70 kilometers. This system has a radar control and works by launching interceptor shells in the air and destroying those enemies.

While David's Sling is the medium-range anti-missile, which operates from 40 to 300 kilometers.

It serves mainly to intercept short-range ballistic missiles, ground-based missiles of higher caliber, or cruise missiles. Interceptors are launched through a vertical unit, have radar and are very effective in medium-range warfare./ Pamphlet
