Israel's air force has announced it has killed Ali Qadhi, the Hamas commander who led the cross-border attack on Israeli settlements last Saturday.
The Israeli military said Ali Qadhi was killed in a drone strike following intelligence efforts by the Shin Bet security agency and the Directorate of Military Intelligence.
Meanwhile, Israel has warned the 1.1 million Palestinians living in northern Gaza to evacuate from the south, and so far thousands have left by vehicle or on foot.
This statement, for the head of the UN António Guterres, is extremely dangerous and therefore required a more humanitarian approach.
As for casualties, the Palestinian Ministry of Health said the death toll from Israeli retaliatory attacks had reached 2,215, with 8,700 injured.
Meanwhile, Israel said more than 1,300 people were killed last weekend in a Hamas attack on civilians and soldiers.
