"Ukraine, the strongest state", diplomat: Why Germany is seeking to

Former ambassador and diplomat Jorgji Kote commented on the political and military situation in Europe, focusing on the threat posed by Russia and recent developments in the German military.

The diplomat said that Russia is a major threat to the European Union and international stability. He underlined that for the first time since 1945, the Western alliance has been called into question, facing a deep crisis of confidence. Kote stressed that the US administration has changed its approach to international politics, recognizing that there has been an irreparable crisis.

"Hope is not lost, but the situation is complicated. Europe, as Ursula von der Leyen said, is looking for its 're-amortization'. Such an idea has also been supported by former German Chancellor Joschka Fischer, who has called for Germany to maintain the same positions it had after World War II, such as Konrad Adenauer's policy," Kote said in an interview with Euronews Albania.

He stressed that Germany is now being asked to become a strong military power, despite its previous militarily non-committal stance.

According to Kote, this process is a necessary step for Europe and for strengthening security in the region. He explained that Europe must increase its defense, focusing on strengthening alliances and strengthening itself, to have an important role in the defense of the continent, however, he said that if Russia were to attack Europe or Germany today, it would be impossible for it to win.

"This is a key moment, where Europe is seeking to reshape itself and become a more powerful actor in world politics, responding to the new challenges being posed by Russia and other threats that may emerge in the future," he said.

Kote emphasized that Ukraine emerged as a "strong bone" and after three years of war has shown that it is the most powerful army in Europe. He noted that Ukraine has created an unprecedented experience in war that not even the United States of America has had, noting, according to him, the failures in Iraq and Afghanistan.

"Ukraine today is the most powerful state in Europe, it has the largest army, it has war experience that even America has not had in its wars, and it has strong support from European and American allies," said Kote.
