Greek government spokesman Pavlos Marinakis stated that Greece does not plan to send troops to Ukraine after the end of the war, as part of security guarantees.

"No, there is no such plan and it is not being considered," he said in an interview with Skai television.

Marinakis stressed that such decisions are in the hands of each member state and that Greece's support for Ukraine will continue, but not at a military level.

He recalled that Athens has helped from the beginning with weapons, ammunition and BMP-1 vehicles, but later rejected the request to send Patriot and S-300 missile systems.

Amid diplomatic pressure, Washington has demanded that Greece send the Russian S-300 system to Ukraine, while offering no guarantees of replacement with American systems.

On the other hand, Athens firmly stands by the position that borders are not changed by force, linking this stance to its historical experience in Cyprus.

"Greece respects international law and, under no circumstances, will soften its stance on border violations," Marinakis said.

The Pentagon has begun drafting concrete plans to guarantee security in Ukraine if the war with Russia ends with a Zelensky-Putin agreement brokered by Donald Trump.

The initiative follows the White House chief's promise to help Ukraine if peace is achieved.

The Reuters news agency writes that one of the options is the deployment of European troops on the ground. The command will be held by Washington. The troops could stand under national flags and not under the NATO flag. Neither the Pentagon nor NATO have commented, but the issue is under discussion.
Russia has rejected the idea. The Foreign Ministry in Moscow has clearly stated that no troops from NATO countries will be accepted in Ukraine.

President Trump has ruled out sending US soldiers, but has not closed the door on air power.

In an interview with Fox News, he said the US could help from the air. With defense systems. With advanced technology. Maybe even with a no-fly zone.

Since 2022, the US has sent billions of dollars in weapons and ammunition. The shipments have been suspended several times, but have resumed after contacts between Trump and President Zelensky. The US administration says the aid will continue, mainly in the form of defensive weapons.
