Footage from the Israeli attack on the underground headquarters of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah in Lebanon has been released.
Nasrallah's death has escalated the war in the Middle East, where on October 1, Iran attacked Israel with about 200 missiles.
The attack on the former head of Hezbollah took place in southern Beirut and targeted a fortified bunker located more than 60 meters underground. Nasrallah and other high-ranking members of the Iran-backed group had been meeting to discuss strategies against Israel amid mounting pressure from Tehran to avoid immediate retaliatory action, according to a report by the Wall Street Journal.
In what was described as one of the largest attacks on an urban center, the Israeli military used nearly 80 tons of explosives, including approximately 85 specialized "bunker-buster" bombs designed to penetrate deep into fortified structures. These munitions, capable of penetrating up to 30 meters of soil or six meters of reinforced concrete, were used to breach bunker defenses and ensure hit accuracy.
" Everything we planned was carried out accurately, without mistakes, both in intelligence, in planning, with aircraft and in the operation itself. Everything went well ," the commander of the IAF's 69th squadron told reporters, according to the Times of Israel.
