Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian told Russia's Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu in Tehran that Israel "will certainly receive an answer for its crimes and shamelessness".
"The criminal actions of the Zionist regime against the defenseless people of Gaza and the killing of the martyr Ismail Haniyeh in our country were a clear example of the violation of all international rules and laws," the new president of Iran was quoted as saying.
"The Islamic Republic of Iran is not at all in favor of expanding the scope of the war and the crisis in the region, but the regime will certainly receive an answer for its crimes and shamelessness", he said in the meeting with Shoigu, who until recently has held the position of Minister of Defense in the government of Vladimir Putin.
