Gjin Gjoni, the former judge expelled from the system for unjustified wealth and connections to criminal exponents, is today one of 23 DP deputies with the title of “Doctor of Science”. He received the degree in 2021, six months after escaping vetting by resignation, while claiming to have analyzed 859 Albanian laws, 180 Strasbourg decisions, the legislation of six European countries and the bibliography of 260 professors within just six months. Gjoni did not complete the Faculty of Law, but only a three-month course in 1993–1994. However, he received a master's degree, postgraduate studies and a doctorate under the guidance of Professor Endirë Bushati, who evaluated the work in three days. The DP presents him today as a legal expert, while his academic and judicial career remains an example of the degraded scheme of degrees and titles produced at industrial speed in Albania.
One of the 23 DP MPs with the degree of "Doctor of Science" is veterinarian and former judge Gjin Gjoni, to whom Sali Berisha has assigned the mission of "legal expert" for the opposition in parliament, television, and social networks.
John received the degree of "Doctor of Law" in March 2021, six months after he was expelled from the justice system by decision of the vetting committee, resigning without daring to face his unjustified assets of millions of euros and the favors he had given to crime exponents when he was a judge.
Under the scientific guidance of Professor Endirë Bushati of the DP, Gjon was awarded the degree of "Doctor" for his dissertation entitled "Civil-legal aspects and practical cases of the application of the law on commercial companies".
In his 171-page paper, "Doctor" John states that he has read, used as references and analyzed:
· 859 Albanian laws and codes for commercial companies,
· decisions of the Court of Tirana, the Supreme Court and the Constitutional Court,
· 180 decisions of the Strasbourg Court,
· German, Italian, Danish, Swiss and Austrian legislation,
· EU conventions, regulations and recommendations,
· the bibliography of 260 international lawyers, prosecutors, judges and professors.
In total, he claims to have read and analyzed 57,000 pages of material, and for six months he processed this entire volume, drew conclusions, wrote his 171-page paper, and prepared the extracts.
For three days, the paper was rated "Very good" by the leading professor, while the scientific committee of the Faculty of Law in Tirana awarded Gjin Gjoni the degree of "Doctor of Law".
The only obstacle in this "scientific" story is the fact that Gjin Gjoni did not graduate from the Faculty of Law. He only took a three-month course for judges in Durrës.
In his CV, Gjini states that he graduated from the Faculty of Law in 1993–1994, after a three-month course, when university studies at this faculty were four years long and each student had to attend at least eight semesters.
After this "graduation", within a year, Gjoni declares that in 2010–2011 he completed a "Master's in European Business Law" at the Faculty of Law in Tirana, while in 2013 he completed "postgraduate studies", and in 2021 he received the title of "Doctor".
So, a unique "scientific formation", consisting of:
· three-month course,
· one-year graduation,
· master's degree without a mandatory academic background,
· unconfirmed postgraduate studies,
· doctorate obtained in record time.
With this "academic level", Gjin Gjoni today gives legal lectures in parliament and the media, while the DP treats him as a scientific authority on jurisprudence.
