Why does Edi Rama hate the media so much?
The vacating of the News 24 building would have been a normal and consensual process, if even the Prime Minister of Albania were a normal person. Although there is still no clear institutional explanation, let's believe that Irfan Hysenbelliu's lease has expired and Focus Media Group should come out and vacate the building.
In a legal state, it would be normal routine to exchange official letters, set deadlines, and warn that if the decision is not implemented, there will be consequences.
Even if this official relationship had reached its peak, honor and the law would have wanted the police forces, before turning off the television signal on Saturday morning, to come out and clarify the public opinion, including those 230 employees who found themselves brutally violated, trampled on, and left out.
But what happened?
It so happened that the security forces, on orders from above, raided and destroyed everything. While the police surrounded the 24-year-old building of Focus Media Group, Ardi Veliu's boss was rubbing his hands from his bunker-house in Surrel. Certified as mentally unstable and already proven that he knows violence better than anything else, Edi Rama must have enjoyed Saturday's spectacle more than anything else in recent years.
He attacked in his own style, the man he declared he hated and who warned him he would destroy. Irfan Hysebelliu has not been consistent in his service to Rama. He has deviated into secret relationships sometimes with Ilir Meta and sometimes with Lulzim Basha. And Edi Rama did not forgive him for this. After destroying Prestige Resort by throwing millions of euros of investment into the trash, he waited with the patience of a fool, hiding in the dark and waiting for the moment to attack, until Hysebelliu's lease contract expired. After exerting pressure on the administrative court to come out on his own, he sat in the darkness of the bunker and enjoyed with maximum pleasure the spectacle of the destruction of several media businesses.
Irfan got what he deserved according to the Prime Minister. And that's just one side of the satisfaction.
The other is the pathological hatred that the Prime Minister has for the media. He has never liked journalists. Since the time of the Municipality, his press conferences have been verbal attacks against the specific names of critical journalists, or simply attacks in general against the media. A man with pronounced problems in interpersonal relationships, journalists terrify Edi Rama. Their freedom and the opportunity to express an opinion, derails him. Therefore, this attack is unprecedented.
Why has Irfan Hysenbelliu's lease expired? The offices could be vacated peacefully and everyone could go to their own jobs.
But to seize journalists' computers and personal belongings? Why?
They are not convicted. Aren't their personal belongings evidence? Why this behavior?
The answer is simple: Edi Rama does not know and has never known how to behave normally. Schizophrenic behavior, violence and bullying have historically accompanied his personal and political life. If you add to this the consumption of 12 years in power, the fear of prison and everything that comes after, we should expect nothing but similar scenes: police violence, dragging, seizure of personal belongings and state silence.
Nobody dares to speak. Until they come out of their bunker and say that the game is over, the situation will remain the same./ Pamphlet
