The American Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, will come to Tirana for the first time, in a visit which still holds a mystery inside. DASH announced that the visit comes as a sign of gratitude for our country, but previous meetings and precedents show that there may be stronger developments.
What has attracted attention is undoubtedly the development of a meeting with the head of SPAK, Altin Dumani. That Blinken will meet Rama is nothing new, since he is the head of the government and he would meet anyone who was there. But the fact that in such a historic visit he meets the head of SPAK is definitely news. Many who can ask why Blinken will call the head of SPAK?
First, it is a message for the prosecutors themselves . SPAK is being attacked from all four sides. Sali Berisha is attacking Altin Duman by name and surname. But the most important question from this meeting is: Will Blinken discuss with Duman about the "McGonigal" file? One day after his visit, the trial of the former FBI agent for the Albanian file will be held in the USA, and more than 3 years in prison have been requested for him.
What adds to the doubts is a reaction of Prime Minister Rama today, who "wrung the tail" of the Secretary of State. Could it be that the Americans are closing Rama's file and he may have the same fate as Saliu? SPAK has opened this file and its fate depends on the American attitude.
