'Trattoria Meloni': Ironically, this restaurant is now the only "success" left from this failed deal.
The grand plan of Edi Rama and Giorgia Meloni to build a "new cooperation model" between Albania and Italy, turned into a bitter comedy. The centers for immigrants, set up with fanfare in Shengjin and Gjadër, are empty today. The Italian operators left, the courts in Rome declared the deal illegal, and the immigrants returned to Italy. And what was left? Only "Trattoria Meloni", a restaurant in Shengjin, opened by the "businessman" known for his servile ambitions, Gjergj Luca.
The Court of Rome saw to it that this agreement, so much advertised by the Albanian government, was destroyed to the core. The Italians called it a legal farce; Albanians, a national shame. Meanwhile, amidst the chaos and the loss of any sense of cooperation, Gjergj Luca stands proud with his "gift" to Meloni, a restaurant decorated with her portraits, as a sign of "admiration." But is this admiration sincere? Of course not. This is the next attempt of a drug trafficker to secure a piece of the budget tenders of the agreement.
With empty centers and lost tenders, Rama can only console himself with "Trattoria Meloni." Ironically, this restaurant is now the only "success" left from this failed deal. Beyond the glorious facade of Italian dishes, Luca remains a symbol of unscrupulous servility that 'licks' everything for favors.
So what can we say? Long live Gjergj Luca's 'Trattoria Meloni', because nothing else is left of this great deal! Well done Luca and don't be upset that it didn't work.
