The Democratic Party is no longer the opposition, but a property deed in the name of the Berisha family - turned into a political commodity for international negotiations and lobbying...
After a tiring campaign, both physically and psychologically, Sali Berisha is worn out. And everyone sees this, except those who exploit him. Now he no longer has the energy to keep even his most loyal militants charged, let alone lead another “season of revolution.”
Despite this, the disinformation machine at his headquarters operates non-stop: there is talk of non-recognition of elections by the US, of early elections in October, of a grand comeback. But the truth is simple: every time elections are held, Sali Berisha will receive fewer and fewer votes. And not because of Rama or America, but because he is exhausted, without energy and without a narrative.
But what is being prepared in silence, and which will explode in the coming weeks, is the transfer of power within the Berisha family. His children are ready. Argita for politics, Shkëlzeni for finances, the media and the "parallel" structures. They are precisely the ones who are building the new legacy on the ruins of a party that Berisha privatized with blood, conflict and many secret agreements.
One of those agreements was and is the agreement with Edi Rama. This is talked about in the corridors of embassies and has been mentioned more and more openly in the media: agreements on the Electoral Code, on the electoral administration, on the attack on Erion Veliaj, on the sharing of the "seal", on the "glove fight" and on tenders, towers and everything else that has financial value.
But what has not yet been said publicly and which will explode in the coming days or weeks is the most serious agreement:
Sali Berisha bought the Democratic Party not from Lulzim Basha, but from internationals.
In the summer of 2021, Lulzim Basha held a meeting at “Rogner” with two important American officials. They demanded emphatically: Berisha’s departure must be done “now and by you – Only You”. Basha expelled Berisha, the conflict began, the separation came, violence occurred, and in the end the matter ended with a stamp. The meaning of this move was clear: Berisha would have to be politically isolated. But he was not isolated, on the contrary, he returned with forced power, because Edi Rama paved the way for him.
According to many diplomatic and political sources, the agreement that returned Sali Berisha to the DP was a package:
- Lulzim Basha's surrender,
- renunciation of any attempt by Berisha to attack Rama with SPAK,
- consolidation of a controlled opposition, and most importantly - a guarantee that the inheritance would pass to Berisha's children, not to any other political figure.
That's why that $6 million lobbying payment was made in the US. Not to save Berisha, he can't be saved anymore, but for the image of his children, so that tomorrow they can officially receive the logo, seal and power of the DP.
Meanwhile, the internationals are in a dilemma. They know that Berisha is a problem, but they are also convinced that any in-depth investigation into Rama could totally destabilize the country, as he is connected to everything that has breath and money.
At this point, Berisha has played a dirty but clever card: he has offered Rama peace in exchange for a front that does not exist, but which bears the name "opposition."
All this is easily revealed in Berisha's candidate lists: names that do not oppose Rama, but suit him. A "decorative opposition" that attacks Erion Veliaj, to save Edi Rama. A "war" that looks more like a coordinated stunt than a real battle for power.
Berisha is closing the cycle. But he is not handing over the party. He is inheriting it. And he is doing so with a well-thought-out plan, which includes everything: international lobbying, agreements with Rama, and the construction of a “political dynasty” that will bear the name “Berisha” even after the doctor himself is no longer on the scene.
And if the DP today looks like a lifeless body, it is because the seal is no longer a symbol of the opposition, it is the final act of a secret sale./ Pamphlet
