When you can no longer find people to represent the citizens, you invent virtual ministers; a digital puppet to make fun of Brussels and the Albanians...
After more than a decade in power, Edi Rama decided to resolve once and for all the issue of religious representation in the government. Not by appointing a new politician, not by promoting some prominent figure from the Catholic community, but by inventing a digital minister. Her name is Diella. A warm, gentle name that sounds like hope, but in fact it is nothing more than a programmed algorithm. And with that, the Prime Minister shuts up Europe: “Look, we also have Catholic ministers.”
Diella is the ideal minister for a government that will not risk anything. She has no history, no political convictions, no personality, no voice. She does not protest, she does not strike, she does not demand accountability. She is available 24 hours a day, she works without pay, she never raises her voice to the prime minister and she is unlikely to betray. A perfect minister for a republic of affairs, where real ministers do not serve the citizens, but the leader.
With this invention, Rama presents himself as a "modern visionary", but in fact he does nothing more than make fun of his citizens. In a country where people are fleeing poverty en masse, where corruption has become a system, where public services have collapsed, he introduces a virtual minister. A technological puppet to cover up political reality. And when someone dares to ask about the lack of real representation, the answer is ready: we have Diella, the Catholic minister.
In this new farce, the Albanian government has crossed every limit. Instead of representing citizens, it has started to represent algorithms. And this is no longer cynical, it is ridiculous. If until yesterday the ministers were the prime minister's puppets, today we also have a virtual puppet. A digital minister, who needs neither a seat at the table nor a chair in the hall, but who serves as a facade to deceive Brussels and mock Albanians.
And so, after all the affairs, scandals and failures, Edi Rama makes a new "gift" to history: Albania is the only country in Europe that has an imaginary minister. Finally, a Catholic minister: Diella!/ Pamphlet
