
For the second time in a year, gas stations in the country decide to reduce the prices of products. After several months in a stable situation, the prices of fuel have registered a slight decrease. According to an observation in the capital, prices at gas stations have dropped from 5-7 Lek.
For 177 lek diesel, 179 lek gasoline and 57 lek gas, fuel is being sold mainly in the capital. Although a slight drop, prices feel negligible for everyday citizen vehicles, while it may translate somewhat to heavy tonnage vehicles.
"The prices are a disaster. As it burdened them, it should ease the citizens at the same cost. It weighs heavily on us, especially those of us who also use it as a work tool. They do not reflect the prices that fall outside, we always pay dearly", say the citizens.
It is mainly the devaluation of foreign currencies, the drop in the international markets of fuel prices. But recently, after 2 weeks, it seems that the branding tax is being reflected, which was removed from August 1 and will be transferred to the state budget as a cost.
According to the General Directorate of Customs, the prices of imports have marked a slight decrease.
Referring to the "plats" stock exchange, oil was traded for $733/ton in the last 24 hours, while at the beginning of August the price of oil varied at $749/ton. As a result of the high demand at the peak of the tourist season, more than 67 thousand tons of fuel were cleared through customs in July alone.
If we compare that in the Balkan area, Montenegro, Kosovo, Macedonia, there is a big difference with these countries.
