Bitcoin's upswing continues. The most widespread virtual currency in the world is worth almost 98 thousand dollars. In less than three weeks since Donald Trump's victory in the presidential elections of the United States of America, the cryptocurrency has reached an all-time high.
Artur Ribaj, lecturer and economics expert, told A2 CNN: "There are actually several reasons, but the main one is Trump's victory." Trump had cryptocurrencies as one of his points in the election, that he would support them. Even Harris had announced it as a priority, but its support was mainly in regulations and restrictions. Billionaire Elon Musk, one of Donald Trump's supporters, is another reason."
Data from Coin Market Cap shows that the boom has also included other digital currencies. The value of Ethereum has reached the level of over 3,600 dollars, Binance 658 and Solana around 250 dollars.
Shahin Dokuzi, an expert on the virtual currency market, points out: “This is the domino effect. When the growth involves the main cryptocurrency, Bitcoin, it is consequently transmitted to other digital currencies as well.”
In Albania, there are estimated to be up to 50,000 investment portfolios in cryptocurrencies, mainly in Bitcoin, whose value is around 90 million dollars. Trump's victory is expected to boost the digital media market in Albania as well.
"Albanians were waiting for him. I have many friends who have bought Bitcoin because they expected the increase. Even more so now that the "half" process is approaching, that of halving it, and its value in the market will increase significantly", adds Dokuzi.
