
The normative act approved by the government for changes to the 2025 budget is revealed. The decision includes the redistribution of remaining funds, strategic purchases abroad, as well as financial injections for local governments, pensioners, and the needy.
-Unused funds for pensioners
All funds that have not been spent from the current budget will be transferred to a special account at the Bank of Albania, which will be used to support pensioners. This decision aims to avoid burning funds and translate them into social support.
-2.2 billion lek for the needy
The Ministry of Social Affairs benefits from an additional fund to help families in economic difficulties, at a sensitive moment of the year.
-The embassy building in London is purchased - 5.2 million euros
The Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs has received approval to purchase the Albanian diplomatic headquarters building in London, one of the largest investments in Albanian diplomacy in recent years.
-636 million lek for the Municipality of Tirana as compensation for SPAK
The Municipality of Tirana benefits from a compensation fund for the Tirana Water and Sewerage building, which has been transferred to the use of the Ministry of Justice for the needs of SPAK.
-1.2 billion lek for municipal debts
The government injects funds to repay the arrears of municipalities, with a distribution formula: 60% based on the debt stock and 40% on the population. The local budget for 2025 amounts to 90.9 billion lek.
-800 million lek for sports.
Funds are allocated for the Albanian Football Association, the Albanian Football Confederation and international sporting events, including "UEFA U-17" and "Cupra FIP Tour Platinum".
-Health: 12.6 billion for medicine reimbursement.
The Medicines and Health Insurance Fund increases, reaching 64.8 billion lek in total, one of the highest budgets in this sector.
