Tourism has become the main sector of the economy. Foreign tourists have started flooding in since January, heralding year-round tourism.
Only in the first three months of this year, the income from foreign tourists reached 788 million euros, with a 20.8% increase compared to the same period a year ago.
But while foreigners come to Albania to rest, Albanians flee the country.

They spent 521 million euros on their travels in the first quarter of this year alone, or about 17% more than the same period a year ago.
But despite these foreign exchange flows that have gone abroad, the balance of tourism was positive.

Our economy was left with 267 million euros net from tourism in the first quarter of this year, the highest level ever recorded. Compared to a year ago, there is an increase of 28.2%.
But let's see the profit figure in relation to other indicators to understand even more what is happening today with tourism in Albania.

INSTAT data show that in the first 4 months of this year, there was a boom in foreign tourists, with a figure that exceeded 2.3 million. It is about 700 thousand tourists more than in the first quarter of last year.
But the tourists who came spent less than a year ago.

According to the data, the average expenses of foreign tourists were 513 euros or 70 euros less than those of the first quarter of last year.
This means that Albanian tourism has quantity and little quality. In other words, poor tourist boom. / A2 CNN
