Anastasi left, now Fan Noli should return!

I think that today, after the departure of Archbishop Anastas, official Tirana must protect the spiritual and religious peace of the election of the new archbishop, according to the codes of Fan Noli and Visarion Xhuvani.

God decided to take Archbishop Anastasius.

Personally, I hope he rests in peace and is talking to the angels in Heaven...

But Albanian-wise, I think it is now time for Bishop Fan Noli to return to the capital and to the compass of modern Albanian Christianity.

Fan Noli was and remains the immaculate and most enlightened Albanian Archbishop who loved us ungrateful Albanians so much.

I say this because in these 35 years of the "reign" of Archbishop Anastasius, Fan Noli, the great and holy Father of Albanian Christianity, did his best to be forgotten and not remembered in his bright greatness! No matter how hard the non-Albanian Patriarchates tried to mythologize and "Albanianize" the late Anastasius, forcibly forgetting the Star that never sets, the erudite Bishop Fan Noli, the great Shepherd of Albanian letters, I don't believe they succeeded!

Albanian elites, if we still have such ones, must bring Fan Noli back to our national attention and to our native Orthodox Church.

Father Fan Noli, spiritually second only to Gjergj Fishta, should be studied as a national hero in our extremely denationalized schools where his greatness is passed over in a few cursory lines!

The Patriarchates have a much longer memory than the people and never forgot Bishop Fan Noli, who re-established an independent Albanian Orthodox Church that had its own Heads in the spiritual leadership of the Albanians.

Perhaps our Greek neighbors or brothers think and believe that Albanians are a flock of sheep lost from the Greek fold.

While for Albanian Orthodox Christians, whether in Albania or the majority in Greece, millions of wasted Arvanites, let's be clear, the conviction of our neighbors is complete: they are simply some perverted former Greeks.

In truth, this is a huge historical and increasingly linguistic debate that I do not want to get into and cannot get into.

But, of course, as an Albanian, I support the schools of thought that Albanians are contemporaries of Alexander the Great and that ancient Greek and ancient Albanian are two wonderfully similar languages, not to say twins of a single Mother.

If we leave at least three or four thousand years behind and return to the present, which is not and cannot be separated from the Golden Age of antiquity, I think that even the late Anastasius believed deeply, deeply that he was doing a valuable job.

Perhaps he believed he was doing a noble work: bringing back the lost sheep of the Albanian Orthodox Christian believers to the fold of the Greek Orthodox Church. And official Athens was keenly interested in this happening, because the Orthodox Albanians in Albania are numerous in number and highly prominent in the foundations of modern Albanian culture.

And those hundreds and thousands, live in their lands that some call Northern Epirus, that is, according to them, in a temporarily lost “extension” of Greece. In truth, this is a centuries-old debate and has claimed the lives of many Albanian enlighteners, especially brilliant Albanian Orthodox priests, whom today's Church has completely “forgotten”.

Here, the brightest of the brightest, Fan Noli is exalted, who assimilated the Albanian Church, who translated Shakespeare for the sheep of Albania, who translated Cervantes and other masterpieces, and who wrote unforgettable poems for the ignorant sheep of our country at that time.

I think that today, after the departure of Archbishop Anastas, official Tirana must protect the spiritual and religious peace of the election of the new archbishop, according to the codes of Fan Noli and Visarion Xhuvani.

The Greek-Arvanite Prime Minister, the son of the Arvanite Marika, Mr. Mitsotakis, honored the late Anastasios with sincere sorrow and did well, because it greatly strengthened the suspicions of the Albanians, who believed that the late Archbishop believed that we Albanian Christians were lost sheep.

But we have our Lord and Shepherd who never dies!

Because I believe that the remains of Fan Noli should first be the cornerstone of our autocephalous Church and official Tirana, there should be a stronger voice in Tirana than the honorable Greek-Arvanitian Mitsotakis, right?

A Nation without a Pantheon of spiritual leaders who have taught Albanian to Albanians, who have made them culturally superior, will continue to be a Nation of sheep, as most of our beloved neighbors want us to be.

The figure of Fan Noli, intentionally forgotten, can finally reborn the Albanian Orthodox Church and not only!

God forgive me if I am wrong in these ranks, but I strongly believe and with solid evidence that the Illyrians, Macedonians, Epirotes, Spartans or Athenians were equal branches of an ancient Trunk.

Well, by God's right, to have its own "tree" on the altar of the enlightened peoples of the world's Ancient Civilization.

Albanian law.
