On the same day that Sali Berisha submitted a letter to the EPP Political Assembly secretariat informing them that a fact-finding mission is needed to prove that Albania is a "narcostate", Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos spoke about the EU accession process of the Western Balkan countries and stated that Albania has a real chance of joining in 2029, if things go the way they are now.
So we have the most important man in Europe promising us that we will be admitted to the European Union in 2029, and the former most important man in Albania during 12 years in power and then in opposition, who is asking Europe to declare us a "narco-state."
All those who are ready to revolt should refrain. We are not dealing with any real harm to Albania. In many respects, Sali Berisha's extreme language and his madness are like a blessing even for Albania's defects. Every European parliamentarian or Western MP has his own standard for his country, which he also has for others when judging them.
A Frenchman, for example, never hears from a Pole that Poland should be isolated; a German never hears from a Hungarian that Hungary should be declared a dictatorship, and so on.
At this point, every European politician has every reason not to fully believe the enthusiasm of the Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kos, or Edi Rama's spectacles with European leaders, but there is one reason that makes them more sensitive to Albania's European path, and that is Sali Berisha.
When a European politician hears this language, this cruelty and hatred for his country from a man who this country has made president, prime minister and opposition leader, when he hears and sees his primitive outbursts, the hatred that emanates from every cell of his face, and above all his mental degradation, he begins to trust Marta Kos and Edi Rama more, even though they may not deserve to be trusted until the end.

So don't be angry with Sali Berisha. He can't do any real harm to Albania. On the contrary, he makes the promises and aspirations of this country towards Europe more credible and necessary. When you compare someone who all the European leaders come to Tirana to praise Albania and someone who gets up at night like a madman to go and "prove" to Europe that his country should never be accepted as a narco-state, you better understand that Sali Berisha is the illustration of why we should become a European country and not remain in the hands of its cave-like logic.
He would do us harm if he were a normal person and a normal leader. As a madman and evil man, he is simply the problem of his biological and political family. The former have put him on the street for money, the latter keep him at the head of the country for a salary. Those are all their problems. They have nothing to do with the problems of Albania.
