In this case, we could face a new legal crisis in the Democratic Party...
Alesia Balliu, a contender for the Democratic Party's presidential race, has initiated the procedure of legal verification of the implementation of the Democratic Party's statute by Sali Berisha, focused on the article that orders the resignation of the party's president in case of election loss for any reason. Of course, the DP will not respond to her request, as it will not legitimize her as "self-excluded", but the case may go to court.
In this case, we could face a new legal crisis in the Democratic Party, if the Albanian court does what it did in the first case in Berisha's battle with Lulzim Basha, which extended the decision for three years to express itself on an issue that has great political sensitivity.
If the case goes to court, the court must rule before May 23 to confirm or not the legality of the right to re-run; otherwise, we will then have another period where the elected president will have open criminal cases and a civil case for misappropriation of the logo and seal.
This has to do with the court's responsibility towards matters of public interest, although it is an excessive luxury to ask for this responsibility from an Albanian court.
However, if the report happens, it doesn't really matter what the court does, but what Berisha does.
His entire campaign for a formal return to the leadership of the DP after the split with Basha was based on the fact that the Democrats should be respected for every decision; they should be represented by a winning leader and not by a "broken leader", as he called Basha, and he proposed that the "Basha article" be added to the statute that sanctions unconditional resignation for the leader who loses the elections.
His entire battle collapses before everyone's eyes and now he has to fight with his own lies and not with the criticisms of his opponents.
He has now, within four years, proven that he has lied about everything. He has lied about the primaries, overturning them after the vote and rewarding the losers; he has lied about the DP statute, throwing it in the trash; he has lied about the opening of the party, continuing to exclude people until the last hour before his re-election; he has lied about the unification of the DP, reducing it more and more from its divisive spirit; he has lied about the renewal of the DP, stamping the face of Flamur and his friends as the DP logo, etc.
In addition, all the lies with which he defended himself against sanctions from the US and the UK have fallen to the ground, which, even though he paid millions to the US and the UK, were not lifted, leaving him as he has been sanctioned: an underminer of democracy, involved in major corruption by his family, and a blackmailer of justice.
After that, any democrat who wants this as president is free to keep him, but there is no need to then annoy Albanians by complaining why they don't vote for him. Let them keep him as president for fun, since they necessarily want him to be a fraud, shameless, corrupt and above all indicted in court for criminal offenses for corruption and political murder by the prosecution. Fun is of course paid dearly. In this case, by staying in the opposition all his life
