The area where the DP may have a difference is Golloborda, which also had significant votes for the SMI.
The incident involving Xhelal Mziu's campaign people in Golloborda is not a coincidence at all, nor is it a deja vu from last year when the political leader of the DP in Debar threatened to take up arms.
Last year, that statement came from Maqellara, the area where the Democratic Party managed to secure the 3 mandates it required in Dibër. But things seem to be changing this time.
In Dibër, the DP received 2,000 votes more than the Socialist Party, while the SMI received another 1,000 votes. But the situation in Dibër seems to have brought about a significant change, and the DP is focused on Bulqiza. Where in 2021, the difference was small, but the SP was in the lead.
The area where the DP could have a difference is Golloborda, which also had significant votes for the SMI. However, the number of voters in this administrative unit does not justify the gravity of such a clash, which could also bring consequences.
It is likely that Golloborda will be used more as a trump card, as an experimental ground for disrupting the May 11 elections. The same experiment was used in 1996, where in Golloborda the leader of the Bulqiza SP was beaten to death by the people of the candidate for deputy, Azem Hajdari. It was a clear signal that the elections would be with the same logic. Golloborda was a reality, a signal of a political alarm that on May 11, the fight is being waged to maintain the status quo of 2021. Which today has been attempted to be maintained through violence, as happened 4 years ago.
