The group that aligned itself with Sali Berisha, preventing them from voting for the DP in the May 14, 2023 elections, has remained sidelined in the current campaign.
We are talking about parliamentarians led by Gazment Bardhi, who was sent as a political leader to Fier, being placed on the closed list.
Sidelined from the campaign, Bardhi seems to be trying to keep his group energized by giving it a boost, which he calls a plan.
According to him, or rather according to the voices coming from his group, there is talk of an idea, or rather a platform that this group has on its agenda.
According to them, the May 11 elections will not be recognized, and so much noise will be made about this that a technical government will be achieved with the help of internationals, with whom Bardhi has said he is in touch.
And with the arrival of the caretaker government, there will be a concession that the opposition will give to the internationals to achieve its goal.
Sali Berisha will be removed from the party leadership and the B2 regency itself will ascend to the top of SHQUP. Hearing this, it sounds like those scenarios that come up like bread and cheese on the geopolitical tables of the "magnificent" panels of our televisions.
But in reality, these are real discussions held at the tables of the "united in diversity" opposition that has remained dry, since the protagonists, apart from Dr. Flamur, are Balliu Junior.
Bardhi's "revolution" which blocked the entry of the DP and its candidates into the local elections, had the hope of re-nomination of the parliamentary group that would join his adventure.
But in the end, except for Bardhi himself, most were not placed on the safe lists, while important names like Dash Sula and others were removed from the list, even though they achieved a winning result in the so-called primaries.
In fact, Berisha did not find it easy to include even the few people from this group on the lists. The appointment of Bardhi in Fier caused great dissatisfaction among the loyal group led by MP Luan Baçi. The sending of Luçiano Boçi, the MP who received the most votes in Elbasan in the 2021 elections, to the Shkodra district has created major problems in the largest bastion of the Democrats in Albania.
Likewise, in Lezha, where DP loyalists have rallied behind former judge Gjin Gjoni, who has invested heavily in the district, also a DP bastion, they have not welcomed Agron Gjekmarkaj, who, although a central figure of the DP, is running a local campaign in the Mirditë municipality.
