The strange escape of DP deputies!

The underground war between the deputies and the base has created this relationship, which has made a part of them undesirable from the heads of the branches...

It has been two days since several deputies of the DP parliamentary group, who stayed in the party and did not join the platform, are announcing their departure.

Saimir Koreshi, Jorida Tabaku, but also Dashnor Sula and some others, have declared that they are leaving because they do not agree with the line that the leadership of the DP has approved, to elect the new president on July 29.

Apart from this point, they express concern that Lulzim Basha will return to the party, and they do not accept this. What if the presidency had a different position than the one it took, that is, to postpone the election of the president for an indefinite time, should those who proposed this line leave the party like these deputies do today?

There are possibilities, but in the register is the decision before May 14, when the majority of branch heads did not support the decision not to run in the country's 61 municipalities. However, they carried the weight of the campaign and achieved the result that was achieved in the municipal councils, plus the support given directly or indirectly to some of the candidates for the pulpit.

In some cases, such as in Durrës or Elbasan, DP branches publicly supported Igli Cara and Luciano Boçi. Meanwhile, the number two of the party Gazmend Bardhi openly supported Zef Hila in Vaun e Deja, in a municipality where the Democratic Party officially had its candidate.

If these MPs do not support the line approved by the presidency, they have every opportunity to lobby at the base, so that this decision is overturned by a higher forum, which is the National Council, or even ask for a referendum.

The insistence: our political line is approved, or we leave, is nothing but the expression of a decision that has been made for a long time. This is because, as has been seen these days, the relations of some deputies with the branches, namely the heads of the branches in the districts where they were elected, are bad, it is possible that they will not be proposed for the 2025 list.

This was seen in the problem that these deputies had in the local elections, where they did not support the placement of candidates for mayors. And this strategy apparently also had a certain goal, since a DP candidate, even if he did not win, being tested with direct votes, he would create a direct relationship with the electorate, which would give him political power in parliamentary elections, but also within the party.

Enkelejd Alibeaj, became politically empowered after running for mayor of Fier in 2015. Since then, even though he came to the headquarters, his political power both in relations with the DP in Fier, but also in the party has increased in exponentially.

The underground war between the deputies and the base has created this relationship, which has made a part of them undesirable from the heads of the branches. Who are likely to return to the most powerful political body of the DP, after they held the main weight in the resistance to Berisha and in the May 14 elections.
