There is a big debate today in the ranks of the Parliamentary Group on whether or not Lulzim Basha should run to take the leadership of the DP. From the part that opposes it, I have not heard them present any substantial argument except that of the need for union. Union, but with whom?! For there to be union, there must be mutual will! For there to be union, there must be two-way reflection! For there to be union, there must be mutual attraction!
For a year and a half, on his part, Basha offered such a thing. What was the answer?! Was there a reflection?! Were there MPs (or are there still today after the loss of May 14, where the situation is as clear as the sun's light) who told him to his face and openly asked Mr. Berisha for such a thing?!
The question is rhetorical, because the answer is obvious. Neither was, nor is, nor will be! Because no one in their ranks represents an alternative or individual political approach, that would make a difference, resonate and create a path, beyond Berisha and Basha. And this is the biggest misfortune of that party.
But let's go back to the issue of DP deputies, who demand at any price not to allow their former boss to return to the head of the party. For the record, it is everyone's right to have a different opinion, to disagree with his return to the head of the Democratic Party or to have reservations about Basha's candidacy. One of those who has his own doubts is the author of these lines. But we cannot hide like ostriches and, instead of the moon, point the finger.
Because it is precisely these MPs and others within the Parliamentary Group of the DP who are the biggest investors and contributors to the return of Lulzim Basha.
With their actions or inactions during a year and a half, they have practically given and are continuing to give Lulzim Basha a free way.
It is these deputies who, in the face of great difficulties and unprecedented attacks from "Foltor" and Mr. Berisha, who for a long time have not shown any leadership, have not undertaken any initiative, have not presented any platform, political idea , opinion or need for discussion, how PD can be re-raised beyond Basha. Even their idea or open invitation to have joint candidates with "Foltore" in the elections of May 14, was thrown into the trash, showing the strength of the vote and the teeth of arrogance.
Not only that, but, after that, some of them didn't even have the courage to support the candidates of the Democratic Party in the May 14 elections, siding with the candidates of Berisha and Meta, under the latter's logo, since Mr. Berisha's "party" resembles a building without a roof. Whether they did good or bad, it is their question, but this is a fact and of course also a responsibility. But, above all, strong argument that "unity" was not enough to be a winner.

Therefore, Basha cannot be banned from running. It must be faced. His ideas must be discussed and rejected. His offer must be surpassed with another even better and more reliable offer, and his approach of not cooperating with "Non Grata" must either be supported and deepened, or opposed and said that we love the direction of the DP to cooperate with Mr. Berisha, despite his design by the USA.
Don't engage in discussions about how to block Lulzim Basha's candidacy, but face it. Why not, even win!
