Chaos as a formula for success

The government is so mired in corruption, and here the corruption appears with such boldness, that there is no longer any obstacle for the country to be declared: "UNESCO World Heritage for Kleptocracy".

Can you make it in a place where reality is more like the scenario of an apocalyptic movie than everyday life?

1. Corrupt government

The government is so mired in corruption, and here the corruption appears with such boldness, that there is no longer any obstacle for the country to be declared: "UNESCO World Heritage for Kleptocracy". Here the public servants are richer than the masters they serve, and the government risks losing the election if only a week goes by without producing a bigger scandal than the next.

2. Crushed opposition

Next comes the opposition, or what is left of it. It invites and organizes protests to overthrow the government, which has been overthrown for a long time, but has finally occupied it.
The opposition today is as effective as a traffic light in the middle of the Sahara.

3. Finished justice

The justice system seems to have misunderstood the concept of 'blind justice.' Blind to the opponents of the government and the impossible, but open-eyed to power. The scales of justice are not tilted, but upside down. It is enough to see with what courage the judges of the Constitutional Court and the Supreme Court (always) give right to the government.

4. Deformed media

The media is like an entertaining mirror, distorting reality to the extent that the truth begins to doubt itself. It is a circus where clowns think that this country has two big bads: the opposition is not governing well and the people are not grateful enough to the government. The media can't sleep if every event doesn't turn it into a series where every fact is optional and every opinion is a fact.

5. Confused Civil Society

Regardless of the stated purpose, the end result is always the same: a group of people gathered around an idea that no one understands, but everyone is sure is important. Intellectuals have the courage to criticize the EU, Russia, China, but they do not open their mouths in front of the government.

And yet...

...in the midst of this chaos, people not only survive; but they move forward. It seems as if they have been inoculated with an extra dose of resistance mixed with an injection of absurdity. This survival in a country where the leaders of the institutions are older than the institutions themselves speaks only for the resistance of the Albanian spirit.

This is not little, in a country where chaos does not interrupt life, but is a way of life. Life goes on under the shadow of a constant absurdity. No more complaints. Nothing surprises you anymore. The answer is a smile and a shrug: "It could be worse."
