The modesty of representation is today the greatest irony in the face of a political class that, unable to bring about change, presents it as a virtue.
For the opposition, it is certain: Denying the morality of the May '25 general elections and denouncing their legitimacy by any means. Moreover, the participation of the Democrats in parliament will make it difficult for them to present their moral and demoralizing cause in the face of the new socialist legislators, who will likely be a class of followers of President Rama.
For the socialists whose mandate will be baroque: There will be constant talk about integration, European modality and the future of Albania, as an integrated country, but also the challenges of wars. The few on the Right who made it out of the Open Lists can speak and even stand up for their causes and their party. As for the Left, it is known that apart from identifying with the president, they will not present anything different. The modesty of the new parliamentarians is a sense of their submission.
And, the evidence has been given to us by discussions and supposed integrity. "With people of not very great ability, modesty is simply honesty. But with those of great talent, it is hypocrisy," Arthur Schopenhauer once wrote.
Why do they play with modesty in politics? It is a sense of showing how close politicians are to the truth and why only they should be trusted. This has led to a whole group of names that produce nothing, except empty bickering in parliament and loyalty to Berisha, today representing the DP, just as a mass without history will represent the SP, read the untouchable leadership.
The modesty of representation is today the greatest irony in front of a political class that, unable to bring about change, presents it as a virtue. It was enough to leave many individuals on open lists, for some to show their claws and are already making accusations and claims, showing that modesty does not do you much good when you are yourself, as politicians were after the elections; while when you are sophisticated, you have it as a tool of hypocrisy for which our politics is famous. The evidence is the accusations within party families but also the development of our country itself, which leaves so much to be desired.
Moreover, this hypocrisy is visible in international relations and the way the world operates today. Except that our politicians cannot make our country look dignified, just as they cannot tell Albanians that our alliances and European integration have high social costs and responsibilities and are not a waste.
"Modesty" as politicians tell us the future today is revealing the hypocrisy in which we find ourselves and where our politics is an undeniable protagonist.
