From Lapaj's father to the "eternal senators": what the lists

A tactical maneuver also used by other parties, which have placed other family members behind closed doors.

It was not a novelty this time, where people who passed a real school of loyalty were put on the lists of deputies. Even with iron tests that went as far as dangerous war materials such as gasoline or smoke bombs. The skill of hiding and smuggling dangerous materials into the Assembly. Or on the other hand to pick as many plums as possible for the great and visionary boss.

We are not really in a time when these things came to us like this in the blink of an eye. In Albania, where the Sejm and the Qehajallars have been the metaphor for rule and power, the increase in the quality of the bodyguards who move up and down doesn't make any difference.

Although with today's post-2009 presidential system, where there are no directly elected deputies, but indirectly, loyalty has become the most recognized virtue of the political class, it is not that it was not there in the past.

Where we have seen many senators who tied the boss's shoes and as a result were more powerful than the chairman of the laws committee, or a tax director, more influential than the Minister of Finance.

Who one fine day could even become the party's number two, managing to create, through a clientelistic machination, an entire class of "entrepreneurs" who enriched themselves with concessions, who took everything into their own hands, but another fine day passed on the other side.

There are few, even in world history, people who have been surrounded not by the pious, but by the learned, even if skeptical. Caesar knew Brutus, a student and disciple of his, who had turned loyalty into a virtue, without thinking that one day he would barbarically kill him. They say that from that day on, everything changed in the relationship between the boss and his subordinate.

However, even before 2009, the lists were made by Sali Berisha and Fatos Nano, so of course there was more interference and lobbying, as they had less extensive control over the party.

Today you have people from the DP lists like Idrizi or Duka, who were introduced into high politics by Fatos Nano, or people on the SP list who were introduced into high politics by Sali Berisha.

The political reality in our country has been and is fluid, as were the fluid alliances once preferred by the doctor who made pacts with Nano, Meta, and Edi Rama. The pact and agreement are not made with the Sejm, but with the enemy.

But what is expected from the lists. Or as Edi Rama has introduced it into the political vocabulary, political teams; is the political configuration, the message it brings to the current elections.

In 1990, the DP brought to its lists a class of well-known intellectuals, for whom the public gained respect after they supported change. In 1992, Fatos Nano's SP brought as a team a group of professors who brought the message of implanting university chairs in the political reality in the country, where reason and debate would take place more than imposition and violence.

The 2005 DP, with the KOP of liberals in brilliant suits, caught the eye of many of the gray electorate and brought Berisha back, even though they had seen the 1997 chaos.

After 2005, things became clearer. Where the left was no longer the same as the right, overnight Berisha joined forces with Meta and then Rama with Meta. To come to 2016, when the deux ex machina of Albanian politics occurred; the reform in justice, which as we can see is a big problem, but also a separate pole.

But today, what is the message of the May 11 lists? Edi Rama has turned the tables, bringing more than 60% of a new political class to the SP. Which is replacing the generation that has been at the helm of the SP since 2005. It is bringing out a second generation, which will very soon occupy the top positions in the entire political dome of the current majority.

Sali Berisha, for his part, has brought in a number of new names, who have important ties of loyalty across generations, but who still give a small ray of positive message. Meanwhile, most of Berisha's team is either former officials of the government that was overthrown in 2013, or colonels that Lulzim Basha had, but who have not given a political profile. This is not a team to make WOW. Berisha does not have an Elon Musk to bring him to victory, as Donald Trump had. Otherwise, Kamala Harris would be in the White House today.

The strangest message was given by Adriatik Lapaj, who put his father on the electoral list. A tactical maneuver also used by other parties, which have placed other family members on the closed lists. This is done so that if they do not win on the open lists, they will enter the closed ones, where the family candidates resign.

There is nothing complicated not to understand. Here, what the public does not understand is what message these new parties are giving with these tricks that the old politics, these real dinosaurs, have never even done. So in all likelihood, this political act will be suicidal for these "new" forces, but who are reinventing ancient rules.

As well as the arrogance of the "eternal senators" who do not move, even though together with the dinosaurs they have become the feeders of this political environment, which Edi Rama has called a swamp, and the doctor an owl.

And the best thing is, when the panel doctors have started apologizing for the owl as a faunal creature, like they used to do when they did such things for Kronos, the Cyclops and other figures of ancient authors. Who of course came up with the "stupid" version.
