The Head of the Special Prosecution Office (SPAK), Klodian Braho, stated in the Committee on Legal Initiatives that the National Bureau of Investigation (BKH) needs more investigators, but stressed that the priority remains the consolidation of the institution and the expansion of its functions.
According to Braho, the shared vision with the director of the BKH is not only to increase the number of investigators, but also to strengthen the structure and technical capacities of the institution. He added that currently it is not the time to discuss the expansion of the BKH premises, describing such a step as premature. However, Braho stressed that this does not prevent the Bureau from carrying out investigative actions throughout the territory of Albania.
" The BKH currently needs to be further consolidated with another number of investigators, but not simply by increasing the number of investigators. Our vision is to add other functions of the BKH. The institution must be 100% functional with all the possibilities provided by the law and with the technical capacities that we can build. There may come a time when there may be a need to expand the offices, but I think it is early, it is urgent. But this does not prevent the BKH from carrying out investigative actions in any part of the country's territory" , said Braho.
